Empowering Foster Youth to Become A Greater Me
The AGM program is a five-week series of empowerment workshops designed for foster and community youth, ages 14-21. The sessions equipped attendees with vital life skills including financial literacy and budgeting, job searching and career readiness, interview skills, understanding legal rights, mental health management, self care, physical health awareness, etiquette and conflict resolution – all while helping them to build resilience and self-realization in order to navigate the unique challenges faced by young people transitioning out of foster care.
Every child deserves a safe and stable home. Unfortunately, neglect and abuse force many into foster care, with nearly half facing severe mental health challenges. In California, a staggering 38% of foster youth never find a permanent home, and only 51% graduate high school. Your support can change this narrative. Together, we can every foster youth receives the stability, resources, and hope they deserve for a brighter future.
